Pancracio
arose from the vision of Pedro Alvarez an economist who has specialised
in marketing, graphic designer and chocoholic. Having created
hugely successful packaging and designs for others Pedro had always
wanted to create something for himself where he could merge his
different skills and expertise.
It was in New York, in the mid nineties on the high of a gourmet
expresso wherePancracio
started to take form.
Pedro began
intensive research; trips, courses including a spell working in
the famous Bruno Bakery in New York under the orders of chef Biaggio
Settepanne where he gained both experience and weight but earned
little money. The project grew in size and had to be housed in
a drawer for a few years.
In 2003 Pedro
decided to produce a limited edition of his best recipes for turrons
and chocolate truffles to give to his family and friends and a
few to sell. He made a lot of friends this way. The enthusiastic
response and success of his efforts was unexpectedly fast and
furious. In this way Pancracio, a small and very exclusive line
in chocolates and other refined products, was born. The common
denominators for all the products of this brand are high quality
and outstanding design.

The creation
of Pancracio could not have taken place without the close collaboration
and support of family and friends, singling out two giants of
graphic design: Massimo Vignelli of Vignelli Associates and Alexander
Gelman of Design Machine.
Pedro is eternally
grateful to all these people, especially to the team with whom
he works every day.
